More than 170 delegates from voluntary and community groups as well as public sector organisations gathered at the Weston Homes Stadium to demonstrate their commitment to mobilising the voluntary sector as part of a shared response to the ‘Who Will Care?’ Commission.
The purpose of the day was to:
· Update you on work to implement the high impact solutions recommended by the ‘Who Will Care?’ commission on the future of health and social care in Essex;
· Agree some major new initiatives across Essex for supporting people in their communities.
Both objectives and more were achieved on the day with some great feedback from delegates of the event who really appreciated the opportunity to network across a wide range of organisations who all work closely with community groups. You will be able to find the slides from the day as well as well some of the outputs (summary here) from the working sessions including facilitator notes. There is also further information to support community groups (available here).
The social and health care challenge we all face requires an urgent and decisive response from communities. You have received this email because I believe you have a significant role to play in shaping this response.
Further information regarding the event on the 4th (including a short video from the day) as well as more information on the first swap shop we promised to run etc will be available over the next few weeks. But in the meantime if you would like any further information or have some good ideas regarding the implementation of the solutions within the ‘who will care?’ report then please let us know via email firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can work together on this important agenda.
