The Who Will Care? Project is now part of the Strengthening Communities Programme which sits within the Public Service Reform Unit.

The project, which stemmed from the Who Will Care? commissions report in 2013 is focused in three areas:

  • Public engagement
  • Data, information sharing and technology
  • Mobilising communities.

Details can be found on the project pages of this site.

We are currently planning a series of four exciting events across the county. These stemmed from a suggestion made by a delegate at the Who will Care event last April held at Colchester Community Stadium.

The first event is in Ongar at Zinc Arts on 29th January.

These will be followed by further events in Chelmsford at Hylands House on 23rd February and Basildon on 5th March at the Towngate Theatre.

These events will provide a forum to swap information and learning around current themes in health and social care and also showcase good ideas and projects using social action from Essex and beyond. The intention is that the Swap Shops event will spark debate, inspire people and generate new ideas in order to assist in developing better quality solutions for citizens.

We will host stalls from the Big Lottery Fund, ECC’s Funding and Investment Team and the Essex Community Foundation amongst others.

We hope to see around 100 delegates at each event, made up of decision makers and influencers from the community and voluntary sector and with representatives from the Local Authorities, Fire and Rescue Service, CVS’, Clinical Commissioning Groups, Citizens Advice Bureaus, and local trusts/foundations.

Please follow us on Twitter at @EssexPSR for details about these events and much more.
